Sleep overs
This weekend we only had one baby per night.
On Friday, Grama W picked Riley up and kept him until about 5pm on Saturday.
On Saturday, Grama T and Barry picked Gavin up at about 1:30 and brought him back Sunday afternoon.
Friday, Glenn and I took Gavin to Chapters and then had dinner at Bread Garden. I must say one baby is certainly easier to handle then two!!! He was a perfect angel (yes we had Gavin!!!). We did have to wake him to take him out, but he fell asleep in Chapters and slept through our meal.
On Saturday, after my Mom picked up Gavin, I was all by myself!!! No babies, no husband...just me. I cranked up the stereo and did a little housecleaning. Beds were stripped, the kitchen got a clean and I vacuumed the whole house!!! I shoulda had a nap but I had things to do.
Riley came home and we played for a bit, then he had a nap and I had a shower!!!
Just after 6 Leslie came over and her and I headed out to dinner at Earl's. We had a nice dinner, while Glenn and Riley had some bonding time.
Yesterday we had a full house. The boy's Great Auntie Glo and Great Grama B came over for a visit with Riley (they saw Gavin at my Mom's the previous night). Then Mom and Barry brought Gavin back. I decided to make a big pot of chili and everybody stayed for dinner. While I was making dinner my Aunt and Mom took the boys for a walk on the dyke.
It was a good weekend and all the activity of yesterday helped the boys sleep last night. They went down at 7:30 and got up at 10 this morning. Not to say they didn't get up to eat (Gavin at midnight and 6:30 and Riley at 6 only), but I slept until 9!!! Which was nice considering Riley was up EARLY yesterday!
The boys were four months old on Saturday and I see changes happening. Riley is a very social guy. He entertained his Great Aunt yesterday for quite awhile telling her stories and smiling at her. Gavin is getting there....he was smiling yesterday and talking, but he is quite a bit more serious than Riley.
I love the fact that they have different personalities, I really look forward to seeing how they come about.
There were two sad notes this weekend. On Friday my Mom had to say goodbye to one of her dogs (Mikey) and we will miss him terribly. I could say more, but I will cry and so will my Mom who reads this religiously!
The other sad note....I posted a week or so ago about a couple in Colorado who had twins. The little boy did not make it, he was 11 days old. It breaks my heart that he went undetected in the womb and can't really understand how it happened. The first sign that Gavin wasn't growing and my doctor didn't even hesitate. I went from her office to the hospital....do.not.pass.go!!! With my ultrasounds every four weeks, they measured every single thing they could on the boys!!! My heart breaks for this couple as they tried very hard for their babies.
My Dad and I are hopefully heading to Westbank tomorrow so Great Grama T can meet the boys...it all depends on the weather!!
Have a great week!!!
