Good bye trees and 2006

Yesterday saw the topping of 20 trees with about 17 left to go. It has changed our view tremendously and our summers will be hotter for sure as the trees are on the West side of our property.

Glenn had 5 guys come out and help. They worked really hard and the ladies made sure they were fed well. I have a funny feeling they all are sleeping in today. Glenn also took the night shift last night, so he will be sleeping for a bit longer!!

There were a few moments that we wished that we weren't watching, but in the end, the trees got topped, the branches were removed and burned and the trees themselves were cut up and put in our back yard.

Next up is to cut back the trees that fell and hope that gravity (and some pulling) will stand them back up, otherwise they will be removed and we will be staring at the neighbour. The 17 trees left untopped will be dealt with as well, but they are not threatening anything on the neighbour's property, so the immediate concern is gone.
Today is the last day of 2006 and we had a great year. 2007 will be very different for us with the boys in tow, but I think we look forward to the challenge.....but I'll get back to you on that!
