Bath time
Last night Gavin had a bath.....I ran out of time to bathe Riley as Beauty and the Geek started. I will bathe Riley today before we head to Auntie Kim's for dinner.
Now I'm not going to post the pictures I asked Glenn to take while I was bathing him. Nude pictures of my kids on the internet is so NOT cool.
Glenn is all for making life easier and the less complicated the better. So I used his reasoning last night and Gavin got his bath in the kitchen sink rather than hauling out the baby tub, filling that up and then having to put it away. Bath time took all of about 10 mins!!
The peanut gallery started up as soon as Gavin hit the water. "Oh gross, look at the stuff floating in the water!!!" Um yeah, fluff from his toes maybe? "You know, he's probably gonna get some disease from that!!" Ok, we wash our dishes in here, so will we also get some disease? Now I know that I was bathed in the kitchen sink (I have pictures to prove it) and I didn't get some sort of weird disease. I may not be normal, but I'm healthy!!!
The thing is, after all was said and done...for the first time since we have brought him home from the hospital, he didn't cry through his whole bath. He was alert, kicking his feet and waving his arms and NOT crying. They haven't started to smile yet, but I think if he was, I would have seen a smile.
So are they too young to have a bath in the sink? I have a stat counter, I know people read this blog, so please step up with your comments and let me know if I am wrong!!! I hate to be wrong, but it does happen from time to time.

should i look for some broccoli in between his toes for dinner?
Every baby I have ever bathed was done on the kichen sink. I know I do not have children, but I babysat most of my friends children. The bath tub is too hard on your back. Baby baths are too much of a pain to hall out every night. The kitchen sink is at a great height. They used to make seats to be used in the sink to bathe babies. I never used one of those, but I have seen them in the stores. Besides, you have to expose children to germs so that they are not chronically sick when they get older.
Okay, first, the finger and toe lint is normal. Could be cause their little hands and feet are so clammy, I'm not sure. I was constantly picking lint out of Veronica's fingers and toes.
All the kids in my family were bathed in the sink. There's no denying the convenience factor. I only ever bathed V in a sink once, when we were away from home(at home I would just bathe with her)
I never thought anything of it. As long as the sink doesn't have any dirt or crud in it, I think it's perfectly fine!

Bathe them wherever works for you! I can't believe the change in them in a month!
And Miss Emily has MAJOR toe lint :)
Baby bathtubs are fine for a small swimming pool on a hot day. Kitchen sinks are back friendly and I would never have thought unsanitary for a baby to bathe in. So I am for the kitchen sink, and I will admit I used mine for Riley!
