Auntie Kim's photo shoot

Auntie Kim came over yesterday and watched the boys so I could make a quick trip to Zellers. Glenn was over helping Tom and Linda move, so Kim came for a visit.

She took more of one nephew than the other and I won't say which one. Only because one slept longer than the other.

Happy April 30th!!! Are your taxes done?

Be careful what you wish for

I think my Dad told me this not so long ago...

We will start with....RILEY IS ROLLING OVER!!!! That's a good thing right???? I thought so too.

On Tuesday, Riley had risen from a nap at 2:30pm...all good....then he wouldn't go down again. Finally at 6pm I had had enough of the crabby kid and decided he should have a short nap (even 1/2 hour would be good). I laid him down and he screamed. Some people don't allow their kids to cry, which is a choice, with twins you don't really have that choice, otherwise you will be DEAD tired. My kids, well I give them at least 15 minutes before I go rescue them. At the 15 minute mark he started to quiet down and then all of a sudden, he was screaming again.

Down I went to check on him, he was on his back!!! (My kids sleep better on their stomachs, especially Riley. When he was NICU, as soon as they put him on his back he screamed.) He was screaming, so I told him it was a GREAT thing that he rolled over. Nap mission aborted!!!

Yesterday morning when I went to get him, he was on his back again and quite ok with it. I called Glenn and we praised him!!! OK wrong move.

I was woken up this morning at 5:20AM by some whimpering. Seems he rolled over again and decided it was time to get up. I really wasn't prepared to stay out of my warm bed at this time. He was smiling away at me, but I didn't speak to him and put him back on his stomach. I had just crawled back into bed, when he started talking. Back in I went and lo and behold, he was AGAIN on his back.

Having none of it, I put him back on his stomach, tucked him in REALLY good and stuck a pillow beside him so he couldn't roll. Don't worry it was low enough that he wouldn't smother himself!! He fell back to sleep until 8, whew!!!

So as much as I want them developing, to grow and do new things, 5:30am is just not the time. We have been pretty lucky in the last month or so....we are getting more sleep and interacting WAY more with them. I know that this is not the last time one of them will wake me up this early, but for now I can try make them see it my way.

I know, I'm in a dream world.

GO CANUCKS GO!!!!

Well, we just finished watching the Canucks "show up" to the 7th game of first round!!! I must say, my fingernails are quite a bit shorter....

Ok, so I've been a little lax around here....and you've probably stopped checking and this will be SO outdated!!! But I do apologize, and say, these are probably the slow times. I'm scared to death for when they actually start really moving around, let alone crawling and *gulp* walking!

The boys have been out visiting alot lately...Friday was my Mom's day to babysit, so loaded up the boys and took them to work for all the ladies to see.

Saturday after my 9 1/2 hour shift at work, I came home and then we loaded up the boys and went to Super Dave and Noreen's for what was supposed to be a drink and a short visit. Miles and Amy (fellow racers and friends) were up to race in Mission and were there also. It was their first time meeting the boys...and the boys were perfect. We stayed later than originally planned, so the boys fell asleep on the living room floor. All noise just flowed around them!!

Sunday Glenn's sister Deanna, took the boys so we could have dinner at Horizon's (a nice restaurant on top of a mountain with a view down Burrard Inlet). With the help of Alex and Samantha, they survived the boys as this was the first babysitting duty for them.

Today I loaded them up and headed to the office. Although this is NOT the optimal time to be visiting, I had to drop a box of client records off to the office. We didn't get all the way around to everybody as it was pointed out to me that I had parking in a no parking zone after three o'clock. I was reminded at 3:30!!! By the time I got to my truck, there was a City of Vancouver truck parked behind me. I did not make eye contact, by I think he took pity on me when he saw the boys!!

On the eating front, I started the boys on cereal last week. Riley was unsure at first, but has now taking to slurping at the spoon as it goes in. Gavin well, he's taking his time as usual, I'm still not sure if he likes it or not?

Please turn up the volume and tell me if he enjoys the cereal or not....cause I'm still not sure!

Hello out there

I'm here, I'm here....but I wasn't for a few days.

The boys and I FINALLY headed up to Kelowna on Monday morning with their Grandpa. They met their Great Grama T, uncle and aunt and 5 of their 7 cousins up there. We came back yesterday afternoon.

I will post pictures and more details on the weekend as I'm still recovering (Riley had to be driven around to fall asleep on Mon AND Tues nights) and I had to work today and will again tomorrow.

I hope everybody had a great Easter and I'll shall update soon!!

5 months

The boys are five months today...hard to believe.

It's hard to believe they were so small when they came home four months ago!!!

Gavin is on the left and Riley on the right.

Riley is on the left and Gavin is on the right.

Look at how much they have grown. We certainly don't have to prop them up in the seats anymore!! And their legs hang over one of the seats now!!

SOLD......to the lady in the second row

NO THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS!!!!

Actually to a guy who lives in Alberta.

It's a happy and sad occasion in our house. As much fun as Glenn had driving the car and the friends that we made while running in Super Comp, the cost to play became to high. Back we go to the drag bike only, which in itself, with two babies in tow, will keep us busy enough.

When Glenn decided in 2001 to buy the first dragster we were overhelmed to say the least. There was a tough learning curve for Glenn, not just the dragster, but learning to tow a 24ft trailer with a 24ft RV.

The first car was stolen in 2002 about 2 months after Glenn crashed his bike. He opened up 2003 with the current car. Since he bought that car, he has spent so much time, energy and cash just so that it was his. He enlisted the help of Rick and they rewired the whole car, Glenn was the only guy in Super Comp with a horn!!! It came in handy in Seattle at the National Events!

I can't even name all the things he has done to that car, but the guy who purchased (in my opinion) is getting a great car!!

Glenn raced in Super Comp for five seasons and learned alot, me....well I got some good friends out of the deal as well as some travelling.

One of those friends....well, it started out "bitchy". In Calgary in 2001, we were pitted (parked for all you non-drag racers) beside John and Darlene Evans. With them was their friend Mike Pople, who also races SC (and has helped Glenn on MANY occasions). After SC had run a time trial, I was waiting at the trailer for Glenn to return, beside in me in John and Dar's trailer, was this lady (I know differently now). I turned to look at her and smile, but she wouldn't look at me. I thought what a b*tch!!

When Glenn returned I asked him who she was, but he didn't know. We had a gift for John and Dar, so we went over to visit. We were introduced to Mike's sister Karin. She barely looked at us. NICE LADY!!!

Well it turns out she's just a little shy (cough, spew, hack....um right). We didn't really talk that weekend and I'm not sure when she actually acknowledged I existed, but now the darn "lady" stays at my house when she is in town. You've probably also seen her comments on here from time to time.

So the dragster left our property yesterday, I watched Glenn drive the car onto the guy's trailer Friday night and it hit me that that will be the last time I see him in it. I really did shed a tear. BUT, this is a new chapter in our lives and maybe in 8 years we will end up with two junior dragsters...you never know.

Sorry if I didn't tell you about the sale, but it wasn't a done deal until Friday and I really didn't want to jinx it!!!

Again this isn't an April Fools, I can actually park my truck in the garage again!!
